This Australian grown, commercial grade wool is of superior quality. It is soft, fluffy and light in weight, yet high on thermal ability, taken from the back and sides of the sheep. Our Downs wool has a longer staple than other wools, which enhances the loft and bulk and holds the fill together – it has a "memory", so that it always returns to its original loft.
Wool is an entirely renewable natural resource – it’s not only soft against the skin but also gentle on the planet. It is hypoallergenic and resistant to bacteria, mould and mildew, which can trigger allergic reactions in some people. Wool is also a natural flame retardant. Wool’s most remarkable quality is its ability to maintain comfortable body temperature, no matter what the season. Wool produces warmth in winter without overheating, and actually keeps you cooler on summer nights because of its natural moisture-wicking properties.

Good stuffing
I wanted to use a more eco-friendly stuffing than the poly fill from the craft store when re-stuffing an old teddy bear and I'm very happy with this wool! Nice and fluffy and has a pleasant wool smell too.
